Mention Tennessee and my heart skips a beat... I'm talking about the true country crush kinda feeling, I absolutely love this part of the world! What's more a visit during Autumn would seriously have to be the most beautiful time to take a trip here, leaves falling, colours changing, weather cooling and best of all its outside the peak season!
You are offered so much choice when considering Tennessee as a destination to share your travel adventure with.
A visit To Nashville enlightens those country music lovers with an abundance of Bars & night life that explode with Country tunes ALL DAY, EVERY DAY and night!
Memphis has the Elvis in all of us heading south to admire his lifestyle and ponder on the history built into this town. Then you have the beauty of the Great Smoky Mountain areas where I was the most surprised to have experienced - this is a Childs Dream holiday location they have EVERYTHING covered.. water parks, Mountain coasters (A lot), Dollywood, Ripley's, great food and lots of fun both day and night - its all happening in the Smokeys!
Parents and adults alike can enjoy many, experiences from the stockade shows, musical stage shows, Museums (titanic is amazing) and safe night life. It's truely a fantastic FAMILY DESTINATION that in my opinion is not given anywhere near enough credit or exposure.
I'm finding it hard to select a starting point for what I feel are the most note worthy sites to enjoy so Im just going to jump right in with a little left field detour landing right on.........
*** Sevierville, TN ***
A city found in east Tennessee. Just South, The Great Smoky Mountains National Park - With it's forest trails, waterfalls and BEARS you are spoilt with the most spectacular views over the town at many vantage points. Consider a stop at one of the heritage listed bridges or sites to really experience all this area has to offer. I'm a country music fan from deep down it's soul deep, so when I learnt years ago a statue of country singer Dolly Parton, a Sevierville native, was located downtown there was no doubt I would be taking a visit here at some point in my life, so excited and immensely greatful for the opportunity of travel allowing me to say that dream didcame true.
Let me share with you a few other note worthy stops I also enjoyed during our visit here
(I will continue to add to this list and keep it as current as possible)

With many vintage aircraft to view inside the hanger combined with 6 exhibits -one that features Evil Knievel's Skycycle X-2 there is lots to see and much history to explore here.

Sevierville, TN
Opening Hours: Daily 10am - 6pm
Price: FREE + Shopping
For those who are keen this place is a fantastic stop for something different, I didn't think I would enjoy it but I took away from this the impressive art designs and shapes of these knives. I guess if you enjoy the outdoors, are into hunting or collect knives as a hobby this store would be of most interest to you. Im not joking when I say there are thousands of knives here, and then some. This multi story retail store seems very disorganised and slightly overwhelming in size and layout.. but if you are on a mission then this will not at all be a distraction for you. High on the walls you see unique taxidermy pieces. There are various stuffed wild animals throughout the store including a real elephant!
Inside the store, you will find the free National Knife Museum. Featuring over 12,000 knives, swords, and artifacts from every era –including colonial times! There is even a small theater with films related to cutlery and shows, so you can see how a good hour plus can be spent here.
The store also features indoor streams and a tall indoor waterfall that adds to the ambiance and makes for some nice photo's. All in all a fun stop for a story back home!
SIDE NOTE - keep in mind our laws on bringing these into Australia and check them out prior to any purchasing over there.

This is one of the last remaining wooden drive-thru bridges left in America, in a residential location this opportunity should be taken with respect to the local homes that surround this landmark. *** PIGEON FORGE, TN***
Still sitting Smokey mountain side of Tennessee, landing on Pigeon Forge- a mountain town and vacation area in eastern Tennessee. Popped up on my radar after learning its' the home of Dollywood, country singer Dolly Parton’s Appalachian-themed park consisting of rides, an adjoining water park and a museum of her costumes and memorabilia. After further research I quickly realised this side of town was going to be more than worth the drive from Nashville.
Let me clarify the Parkway ( Blue Ridge Parkway)... this is the name used for the travelled road between Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg - there are lots and lots of activities found here.... a little confusing because its noted a lot as address in different towns its the one road and man its chock a block full of fun and adventure! Who knew?
The city has many other attractions worth mentioning off the parkway, there is no shortage of fun to be found here so I will go ahead and offer my top must see experiences when visiting Pigeon Forge.....
** The Island - In Pigeon Forge **

Yes this place is FREE to visit but be prepared if you have children you are not getting out of here without spending some$$$! This place is just a fun day or night out with the family. With its huge rope course , Build-A-Bear Workshops, An escape room, fun rollercoaster and more this could easily turn into a full day, you can refuel at one of the many food outlets and finish with take a ride on the great Smokey Mountain Wheel. Night Visits offer a more excited vibe with the lights and music creating more festival feels - The fountains offer a FREE Light show that is a must see if you happen to be there at night *be sure to seat early as it can get very busy - Well worth a visit!
** DollyWood **
Location: 2700 Dollywood Parks Blvd, Pigeon Forge, TN
Opening Hours: 10am - 7pm CLOSED TUESDAYS (weather can close park)
Price: ADULT from $89 |SENIOR (62+) $79 |Child (U10) $79 + Parking
It's easy to see why Dollywood is taking its place as one of the best theme parks in the world, it just has a vibe all of its own. I really cannot compare it to anywhere I have been before, I guess if I was to try and explain, for those who remember our very own Australia's wonderland - maybe this could be used to help build the feel of Dollywood, add a dash of Disney's magic, imagine a store dedicated to all things Dolly, loads of Country vibe, some southern styled Cuisine and over 50 fun filled rides and exciting attractions - that would be half way towards explaining the amazing atmosphere Dollywood has on offer.
Add to that Wildwood Grove a fun area filled with rides, restaurants and a cute dancing butterflies that light up at dusk each night. The Fab Dolly Express... This is our families favourite to do activity - its just so cool, something really special and a great way to see the park and take a load off the feet a ride in my opinion is best taken on dusk or into the night and be prepared to wait.. wait and wait a little more, it's hugely popular - tho well worth the wait. Entertainment in abundance and easily found all over the park, it is just a magical easy paced visit.
There is shopping throughout the park at various themed cottages and the much anticipated dolly branded goodies, you will find working hobby stations where you can watch workmen and women embracing traditions like glass blowing or metal/leather work. Beautiful opportunities for photos can be found all over the park with its vintage themed designs and seasonal dressings.
A note to mention is this park is all about its guests... so if weather puts you at risk (snow for eg) they will close the park, if it's windy they will cancel fireworks - this is not a complaint, I find this honourable and respect they are doing what's safe for everyone.
I will leave you with some final thoughts to rest with ... consider the time you visit and try to make it during a season like Halloween (harvest fest), Christmas or I hear the Flower and food festival is also a real treat to experience in the warmer months...
It wouldn't be a true visit or post here if I didn't mention Dollywood's world-famous cinnamon bread! You can find this delicious treat at The Grist Mill. Easy to find the lines are HUGE! The bread is served hot from the oven for a melt-in-your-mouth dessert you can't get anywhere else. It is true! I definitely seen & experienced the wait lines Dollywood serves aprox 350 loaves of cinnamon bread in just one hour!
Im sure whenever you visit you will have a lovely time, Don't forget to download the App prior to visiting.
** DollyWood's Splash Country **
Location: 2700 Dollywood Parks Blvd, Pigeon Forge, TN
Opening Hours: 10am -7pm DAILY SEASONAL
Price: ADULT from $54.95 |SENIOR (62+) $44.95 |Child (U10) $44.95 + Parking
Water fun for everyone, Splash Country invites you to enjoy incredible water rides and activities.
This 35-acre (14 ha) water park located in Pigeon Forge, is adjacent to the Dollywood theme park.
Rated 4.5* your day can be as busy or as relaxed as you choose with 15+ water rides and areas to enjoy, I guess being a special needs mum one of the things that caught my eye about a visit here is the Rider Safety & Accessibility Guide! This provides information on the recommendations and restrictions for each attraction, something you can research prior to a visit.
Additionally, you can find specific information for Guests with disabilities. This
information provides a clear outline of the accommodations at each attraction, as well as
the physical requirements for entering or exiting ride vehicles and other attraction areas! They have covered everything right down to meal options for various diets... I do know they also allocate one single cook per special order to take full responsibility of that meal so there is no changing of hands or crossed information - this person will also personally deliver your order - AMAZING !!! I have not yet taken our younger daughter to a water park so I would love to hear from any families who have enjoyed a day of water park fun for some genuine feedback on the pro's and Con's of this family day out.
** Fun at the Track**
Location: 2575 Parkway Pigeon Forge, TN
Opening Hours: 11am - 8pm (fri/sat till 9pm) DAILY
Price: POINT/Credit SYSTEM (eg... 1x point = $1)
I need to mention straight up.. you are far better off buying these points/ride credits online direct with the site... Discount's are great and of better value.. Also mentioning here - Once you receive your card it can be used at other THE TRACK locations in the USA... and if nothing else it's a great keepsake item.
I had no idea how Go-Kart crazy the US is they are everywhere and are one of the top activities local families enjoy. I can see why - Fun for all ages, we enjoyed levels of it... Go Karts are raced over levels of track just not ground level...! Rides = fun , thrills = lots and laughter = all day! It's a one stop, action packed day of fun for everyone. The weather (in Nov) was perfectly mild so we didn't mind to spend a little longer out in the sun. We mostly enjoyed the double seated go karts, the fun family rides, enjoyed the thrill zones ( me not so much), JUST OLD SCHOOL FUN!
Located right in the heart of Pigeon Forge next to The Island (I have previously mentioned), it's said this original Track property has become a fixture of family fun for generations. It's got everyone covered from a round of mini golf, blaster boats BUMPERS ON WATER , bumper cars, kiddie rides, an arcade & more!
You could honestly spend some serious hours here, and on our visit we didn't have the craziness of crowds so this worked out to be a great day for our little lady.
A final note regarding point/ride credits... say you buy 200 points these can be split over each family members card eg 50 points per 4 people = 200points ... (they have introduced this system to be used on your personal phone also - may not be a physical swipe card)
** Cooters Place & Museum **

Pigeon Forge, TN

** Gorilla Fireworks super store**
Location: 1427 Winfield Dunn Pkwy, Sevierville, TN - (on the way to Pigeon Forge)
Opening Hours: DAILY 8am - 5pm
Price: FREE + purchases
For those of us who remember our Aussie family firework nights in the back yard, the ones spent nailing spinners to the timber fence and tossing jumping jax on the patio floor, toasting over the bonfire let me tell you a stop at the firework super store will have you right back in the moment!
These places are HUGE .... and loaded from end to end with LEVELS of fireworks....Im popping this one here for anyone who is in the smokies area as its on the main parkway to Pigeon Forge. I was a kid all over again just seeing this superstore in the distance on our way to Pigeon Forge last year. What a great stop if you have time ( kids may not appreciate the stop, but you certainly will ).We were staying in the Mountains national park so we were unable to purchase any (kind of glad because it was not in the budget and I would have gone bonkers here) however you might like to investigate this one and see what the laws for where you are staying permit. If your in a country area you are in luck, so long as its between certain times and dates..... It would be so cool to purchase some simple fireworks and have a mini bon fire night if you are able to. Something to think about when planing a trip to TN! - this is a perfect example of why I love helping families build amazing holiday memories - how thinking outside the box of uniformed travel (advised by many chained travel centres :) can create the most amazing holiday memories - we are definitely doing this next trip!
PLEASE NOTE - Sevier County- Legal to sell and set off fireworks in county but not in Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, or Sevierville city limits.
** Titanic Museum **
Location: 2134 Parkway, Pigeon Forge, TN
Opening Hours: DAILY 9am - 7pm (Fri/Sat till 8pm)
Price: ADULT 35.00 |Child (U13) $15.00 | FAMILY $115 (2a +2under 18yrs)
You truely do not need to be a Titanic fan to appreciate this Museum. It has been designed to share as closely as possible with guests what "Titanic’s" actual passengers and crew experienced aboard ship. You start by entering a life sized replica already my mind is blown - Whats more kids will embark on a fun, interactive and educational experience without even knowing it - thats a win for me!
I am confident enough to say will not fail to fulfil these hopes or expectations of your own, I have seen the display in Vegas but this is next level..... Visitors can actually touch sooo much and really engage with the entire experience. Feel free to take a hold of the wheel on the captain’s bridge, tap out messages on the ship’s wireless, stroll decks and galleries and listen to stories told by real survivors. thats all before you have the opportunity to feel an iceberg’s chill! It's just a really fun way to enjoy this once classic tale now modern folk story. I don't want to give away too much here I really want for you to enjoy this in your own amazement - so I will close by suggesting you look for its seasonal offerings to enhance your visit and hope you do take time to stop by and enjoy this fascinating museum in its full glory!
(I will continue to add to this list and keep it as current as possible)
We would love to hear what you think of out site. Was there something that really helped you, something you didn't see- tho, hoping to have found more information on?
Let us know
Where the country Music reigns Supreme, hands down, I'm tipping my hat to you Nashville!
Nashville is the capital of the U.S. state of Tennessee and home to the famous Vanderbilt University. It's filled with Legendary country music venues - Grand Ole Opry House, (home of the famous “Grand Ole Opry” stage and radio show). The Country Music Hall of Fame finds its place on John Lewis Way S in Nashville also, while the historic Ryman Auditorium are Downtown.
Speaking of Downtown let's head straight for Broadway! A lot has changed from the traditional bars I remember, in only a few short years since our last visit I really was surprised with all the new 2+ levelled roof top establishments - I'm choosing the word establishments here because I really feel the old school honky Tonks are finding themselves lost in this new commercially driven world.
Thankfully the museums still offer a real traditional visiting experience and you truely can spend a good chunk of the day hopping between them
Food is so, so, so much better than I remember. Nashville has really leaped forward in offerings here and you can find just about any cuisine! With the famous founding themselves to high end eateries there is noting you are missing here you just need to stop and enjoy the atmosphere.
A mention here to acknowledge the very 1st women to ever own a bar & restaurant on the famous Honky-Tonk downtown strip Miranda Lambert - who opened
* Casa Rosa * a Tex-Mex Cantina a FOUR level 2 staged establishment in March of 2021 that is absolutely worth a visit! Its bright, theres lots of pink, it has fun wall art and great photo opportunities and the food is Great - really!
Its only a teeny 3 minute walk from the Rayman. Miranda was hosting a private party here during the CMA's when we last visited, goes to show - you never know who you may see even if it is peeking through the window LOL
Down Town really is the place to be if you are looking to be right in the thick of it, remembering there is so much more on the outskirts also worth a visit.
All that said lets go ahead and offer some recommendations away from strip...

I just adore everything this mural represents its location is also a great place to spend a few hours on a lazy kind of day!
Kelsey Montague, an American illustrator & interactive street artist, and most notable here - the founder of the “What Lifts You Campaign”,
travels the world to bring these murals into public spaces and asks people to reflect on what inspires them in their lives - mostly done via Video dialogue. What a beautiful way to capitulate a moment of thought! This location is also a perfect opportunity to enjoy some shopping and/or dining .
It's a yes from me! - it does help freshen up your camera roll!

Opening Hours: DAILY 11am - 11pm (Fri/Sat varied)
Price: MENU & BAR OPTIONS
The vibe here is sensational, the service is outstanding, the food delicious with the atmosphere at its peak in the evenings I would highly recommend a meal or drink here!
the Decor is inviting all on its own this easy decadent design is personally right up my ally when looking for something a little fancy - so in we all went...kids in toe - WOW 3 stories of magic admitting here that the kids only enjoyed the Honky Tonk level where we dined on feast of entrees, mains (Spaghetti Bolognese that I have not had this good outside of Italy) and desserts for lunch - All absolutely worthy of the price! Drinks being with the kids was kept simple with Soda's...
It was straight to the rooftop for a peek of what there was on offer and it did not disappoint with a menu limited to snacks for what that lacked made up in drink offerings this is clearly a level to sip and enjoy all that this club has to offer I can only imagine what the vibe here is at night considering its in partnership with Justin Timberlake!
I have to say I will be back without the kids to update you on what this establishment has to offer over all floors both day and night! x

Shop till you drop! With a MASSIVE 190+ places to shop, dine and enjoy a day can easily be filled here.. ( another reason staying over this side of town is a great option for families, and why we love this area)...this feels like such a safe place to be i have been here with the family both day and night - on my own both day and night and with my daughter on our own during the evening - never felt unsafe or seen anything off putting! Taxi and Uber is in constant stream here so accessing without a car seems to be doable!
Some outlets we favour when visiting here are Bath and body works - the boot barn - carters Champ Sports- Converse - five below just naming a few. We do also treat ourselves to a meal at the cheesecake factory!!
* While here I would suggest a visit to the themed restaurant for a drink and a look around - we on the 3 seperate visits could not really rate the food at then rainforest cafe as something we would recommend price is high, service and food lacking overall the experience is better suited for a quick drink and light snack to be polite and as a thank you for allowing you to stop and enjoy the themed atmosphere, that the children will enjoy!

Just when I thought I couldn't love Opryland any more, 'BAM'a water park! What a waterpark it is, not your regular waterpark - Im talking Indoor/outdoor ALL YEAR ROUND waterpark - rides with lights and music! Pay attention water park lovers this is the new era of upscaled water fun... spanning over 4+acres with 3 levels of fun I cannot wait to bring the kids back!
Although I did not enjoy this activity this visit, I did manage to take a look around for future visits... Let me tell you this place is next level..... featuring a double wave rider (I've not ever seen that before) I can see many a family challenge taking place here as it offers a duel ride experience - what a fun way to challenge the teens! My mind was silently blown when I spotted the entry of what looks like the traditional the lazy river on closer inspection I soon realised this was also elevated to a next level kind of experience with lights peeking out from the cavernous rock features what's more I heard music - yes from inside the cave. Can you just imagine how chilled this river ride would be?
I was wanting to mostly inspect the areas suitable for our disabled daughter again nailed it with a lovely cove area complete with splash pad and pool designed for young children. Whats more a well designed multi-level play structure great for kids of all ages includes multiple small and medium slides, finished below with a shallow water area and spray features. ITS A YES FROM ME!
Levels of fun here for everyone!
No park is complete unless there is a traditional swimming pool area right?..... Again NEXT level!
This area blew my mind and sent me straight back to my childhood evenings watching It's A Knock Out as soon as I spotted the fun lily pads spread out over the pools surface, What a fun idea.. above is a suspended cargo net you can hang and race friends across the pool hoping not to drop into the water below the fun continues at the rock climbing wall - I Know who would have thought?... my mind continued to blow when I also spotted the basket ball hoops and water curtain!!! If thats not enough to add this attraction to your wish list Im not sure I can help you!

A beautiful way to appreciate the river and admire the Atrium of Opryland - take a seat on one of the guided boats around the scenic river, passing by the waterfall and surrounded by the beautiful gardens peek at fish and enjoy the lights.
This calm tour allows you the opportunity to ask questions while your guide educates you on all that is Opryland - we all loved this, if your lucky enough to be seated with a funny guide this really will allow for a fun trip around the river!

Love, love, love, This place it never disappoints, we have visited here over the years and really do enjoy our time spent here. On arrival you are introduced to the beautiful gardens that welcome you gracefully and build the expectation of whats inside....yet nothing can really prepare you for the fest your eyes will experience once inside! I get French vibes yet its not of french heritage... I get rainforest feels yet not a rainforest there, I imagine standing in a glasshouse filled with modern world feels. There is just something magical that fills the air here and needs to be experienced to appreciate.
Aside from its many family friendly attractions and entertainment if you manage to visit during a themed season you are in for a real treat, we have been here during Christmas festivities pre and post covid and I have to say both visits were exceptional.
Pre Covid was in the evening, we all agree the highlight for us was our horse drawn adventure through the beautifully decorated gardens themed to the likes of Christmas it was just magical. the girls enjoyed the ice sculpture display and the cooking classes.
Post covid was equally pleasing, however we did notice the absence of Mrs clause who in previous years gathered the children in her lounge room by the fire for cookies and a Christmas story.
We were lucky enough to bring home a very special book personally noted from Mrs Clause that year, one we still enjoy each Christmas Eve.
Our latest visit was only last November (2022) and we opted for a lunchtime visit rather than evening and although our visit was not enhanced by the lovely Christmas lights, we did manage to enjoy the outdoor activities without the chill factor, so you can see the Pro's and Con's of our visit is quite even.
All in all you do not need to have booked a room to enjoy these festivities. Any reservations you may wish to make simply see the website and check ahead to be sure you have the correct passes and bookings.

I am only mentioning this as a place of interest because I really do feel it's a good options for travelling families, this restaurant offers the opportunity to entertain the kids while you enjoy a moment for a refresh. I've been there - I know how exhausting travelling with children can be when you don't have the comforts of your regular support network.
So thats why I feel this stop could offer you a little respite all of its own. I'm not saying order big here in fact this place can honestly be hit and miss in the food department from experience. What it will offer you is the choice of ordering a drink and an entree at very least - while the children (hopefully) embrace the surrounds of what I feel is a beautifully tranquil environment.
With Booth or table options any choice of location offers views of the Large aquarium and underwater decor that really fills the feel of being underwater. Babies are best parked right near the aquarium for a sensory experience that will hopefully allow you time to enjoy a hot meal if you desire.
Toddlers and older children should remain engaged by counting fish, watching the many species swim by or simply sit and colour with the small table activity sheet offered on arrival. Here's to hoping you get to refresh and continue your holiday having enjoyed a stop off here!

I particularly love this wax museum as it's host to the most country music stars of all the Madame Tussauds and being the super fan I am, I just need to get amongst that!
I also love that there is space to enjoy the figures even with a busy day, you can move from exhibit to exhibit with little concern of missing out.
One thing I did notice instantly was how interactive this museum is.. Ive not seen so many photo pros provided to enhance visiting patrons photos - its a really nice touch, especially post Covid - its good to see this attraction moving forward and welcoming back the normal! I enjoyed this attraction with my pre teen who complained of not wanting to go the entire time leading up to it - yet she absolutely loved this place and didn't want to leave 10 minutes in!

What a fun shop, we love Savannah's!! Drawing me in is its traditional southern Candy! Load me up with pralines and I'm one happy Mumma! That's saying a lot because I am not at all a sweets person, there is just something about this signature sweet that is hard to resist! This store is filled with loads of candy, toffy apples, Log rolls, Chocolate, fudge, brittles, toffee's and more!
More like the Ice cream section and an abundance of gifts throughout the store.... A great pit stop for a sugar kick!
** Matthersons **

We stopped for Ice cream and walked out with a Giant Cookie, what a cute store! I will say the lady serving was hopefully just having a bad day, because her customer service was less than welcoming - in fact it was almost non existent aside from telling us the cost and returning our change. That aside I'm still happy to offer it up as a quick sugar fix option just off broadway to open your opportunity of seeing things off the strip!
Take a look at what our family thought about L.A and surrounds
Located in Gatlinburg, this star cars museum was outstanding!

This mountain town in eastern Tennessee, for those considering here as an option is known as a gateway to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. It's hard not to be reminded where you are when you are offered the many beautiful sweeping views of whats known to be this most visited US National park.
They certainly do like a mountain coaster - I mean they kinda love em'
Head downtown to the main street *the Parkway* and you are absolutely spoilt with choice, I guarantee everyone will be catered for in more ways than one.
Gatlinburg in my opinion is a hidden gem when it comes to holiday choices (even more so with children in toe) I can assure you a day is NOT enough if you are on a visit from out of town.
Here's a few good options to consider whilst building your itinerary, Geez Mr Ripley own's a stack of realestate here! ....saying that if you think you may do a few of his attractions/ museums then you should invest in a combo pass rather than seperate entry fee's.

This was a favourite the instant we walked in.... Greeted with what honestly was a little unexpected the HUGE 3 levelled play area that children can explore and play on for well, ......honestly all day if you let them. Unfortunately this was a huge hurdle for us and I would advise anyone travelling with a young disability attached to really have a strong plan to help you pass this point into the actual Museum!
We didn't - I promise you we could have easily qualified as a Ripley's exhibit all of our own trying to control our daughters unexpected melt down (that we have never experienced prior) and tantrum that lasted a good 20 minutes and continued to follow her in mood the entire visit!
A HUGE THUMBS DOWN FROM ME on this design layout and confident to say the voice for possibly many other families with young kids - whats more this play area is accessible through other levels of the museum, so again we needed to restrict her play causing another disruption to everyone's visit! I mean everyone -she was heard far and wide! I have reconsidered my thoughts here and although I do stand by them .. I can also see how this could be of benefit in many ways to everyone in the older category with more control and children's understanding of the rules.
Aside this initial welcoming hurdle the place is amazing - it has cute cove's for kids to view the tanks, lovely walking lanes with led light accents, many hands on exhibits and attractions to enjoy building this visit into a good few hours for 1st time families. A ride on the glass bottom boat offers a view of the sharks and other fish species from above, it is an additional cost and is the opposite view of the walk through tunnel, so you really do see the same thing I guess.
The long underwater walk through tunnel with the sharks was fun and the children enjoyed all the fish and the opportunity to stand on the moving belt added to the fun. If you are a penguin fan the penguin exhibit can really stall you, they even have a hospital care ward that attracts interest for us adults - we spent a while here the children played in the tunnels and enjoyed the viewing ports we did spend most of our time here actually. We were surprised to learn you can also sleep over - check website for more information on that one.. sounded great!
All up we spent about 1.5 hours plus visiting and I didn't feel we saw everything. No shows and we didn't stop to enjoy the hands on exhibits we also did not do the boat ride.

Clear your storage this place is a Guzzler in the photo department - Packed with celebrity rides, movie & TV automobiles, a fast and furious collection this place ticks all the boxes and is sure to send you back to those childhood movie nights! For a museum this one stands out as being both immaculate & informative. Cars are spotless and displays really capture the era's and themes well. Not to much that is relatable for little ones so I would suggest this be considered when visiting.

What a fun stop this was, took me back to the days when ceramics was all the rage! I had no idea what to expect taking this detour so with no expectations onboard I really enjoyed this place. It's Iconic, It's a landmark and it offers spectacular views of the GSM and Gatlinburg town once you reach its viewing platform. That's what it's original intention was, today it still offers its breathtaking views (right through to the early AM hours of the morning) and educational advantages.
Only now a visit here has been elevated by the inclusion of it's amusement centre that's home to the largest selection of amusement games including simulators and assorted activities found in Gatlinburg. If this stop has sparked some interest let me finish up with suggesting you also enjoy a bite to eat here especially if your excited about a traditional New York Style Pizza or craving some Italian cuisine.

We absolutely love a good believe it or not so finding one right smack bang in the middle of our holiday adventure was a welcomed addition to the itinerary, and it highly recommended for any fan looking for a good oddity.
Filled with the unexpected and unbelievable this eye popping visit will have you embracing the world in a completely different view. Yes there are times it can get loud and feels busy but then there are moments of calm and space its all part of the visit. I really don't want to give anything away all I can offer is a tick of recommendation and ask you allow around 1hr+ for a visit here.

Even if I wasn't to mention it here, the aroma that drifts delicately from its doors would have you promptly searching for this true treat of a stop. It's location tucked away off the main parkway in the sweet little village area allows for additional roaming while you sip on a coffee also available from the Friar. What a feast for the senses - The smells, the beautiful ombre trees ( in fall) the window displays (harvest festival) the friendly vibe - All valid reasons to take a moment and enjoy this European-themed village. If the magnificent fountain isn't enough of a backdrop for your photo there are plenty of options around here that are perfect settings for insta worthy snaps! Shopping, dining, admiring, its all a step off the main street!
** Anakeesta **
Location: 576 Parkway, Gatlinburg, TN
Opening Hours: DAILY 10am - 9pm |Fri/Sat 9am-9pm
Price: ADULTS $34.99|4yrs+ CHILD $22.99 - UNDER 3 FREE
If you are tight for time I would suggest a stop here at Anakeesta to get the most bang for your buck! A visit here will have you covered with fun, food, shopping and areas to sit and admire the smoky's in its true glory. A good 2-4 hours can be spent here with or without children, so its a great starting point to get a little of everything if you are just passing through on limited time.
At the very least, plan around 3 hours to allow sights to be enjoyed as a regular pace.
If you've booked a ride on the mountain coaster or a zip line adventure, I would allow an additional 40+ minutes. chondolas will need to be considered for additional time also (I would say again 45+ minutes) this would also include a ride on the Ridge Rambler bus to the top. It really all depends on what you plan to do during a visit here.
Children can enjoy lots of exciting activities - zip line, mountain coaster, gem mining are just a few to mention before considering the skywalk or the new nigh time Astra Lumina experience
(I would love to do). You can see how a few hours here, can quickly turn into a full day visit.
If you do happen to find yourself heading into late afternoon and time permits you really should stay. Enjoying a meal from the heights Anakeesta offers is one thing, to have it accompanied by a stunning sunset - SPECTACULAR! What's more a final nightcap can be best enjoyed slowly sipped, by the fire pits surrounded by the natural beauty that is, the Great Smoky Mountains of Gatlinburg!
Get ready guys, this one stretching for nearly a mile and reaching speeds up to 30 miles (48km+) per hour is another fun one to enjoy! Remembering you can make this ride as Thrill or Chill. Aprox a 7-minute ride, you can enjoy the gorgeous mountain views and all the ride offers as you zip by.
The Rowdy Bear Mountain Coaster!
A little faster reaching speeds up to 35 miles (56km) per hour at max! Winding through the woods is completely in your control slow things down and enjoy the mountain. So easy to operate — just push the handles forward to go and pull back to slow down!
You may also like to consider the Mountain Glider since you are here! A single-railed air coaster that combines free falling and hang gliding, not for me but you do you! x
Another all weather mountain hill adventure right here, seats 2 people per ride, so a great one for families with younger or less adventurous personalities!
The track, over a mile long (1.6km) reaching speeds up to 30 miles (48km) per hour is quite the adventure. Like all the other mountain coasters, you’re in full control of your own speed as you enjoy the mountain track.
Its a top pick for us!
also one of the top rides in the Smoky Mountains! Super fun, family-friendly you are going to want to visit here. Another coaster that offers both single and double rider cars, so you can enjoy the experience with a family member or friends as you race down the mountain at speeds of up to the usual 30 miles (48km) per hour. It’s a great opportunity for moms and dads to take their kids for a fun adventure! Fun both day or night - I suggest a visit for both.
The Rail Runner at Anakeesta is becoming one of the most popular mountain coasters in Gatlinburg! Not sure if it's the adorable bear family that drowned the news and socials put it on the map - or its just in a very convenient location however its still enjoyable and worth a mention if you are visiting here. A first of its kind and the slowest in the US this single-rail mountain coaster offers a thrilling 1,600 (almost 5 meters) feet of twists and turns and a 400-foot 122m) elevation change, reaching a max of 25 miles (40km) per hour.
Tandem or single ride options on a single track.
AnotherTick from us!
Holding title as being the longest coaster in East Tennessee, this ride allows visitors to enjoy an almost 10-minute ride with traditional speeds reaching up to 30 miles (48km) per hour! Along the ride, you’ll get to experience the gorgeous Smoky Mountain scenery like all the others, you'll enjoy 360-degree turns, surprising tunnels and other treats I wont mention to spoil the fun. Another great track thats a delight to visit when lit up at night
I would almost say this is one of the best mountain coasters to open in the Smoky Mountains!
