What's not to love about Singapore, Home to one of the most amazing airports in the world
(in my opinion) has amazing food, beautiful safe tourist areas and loads of fun for the kids.
Add to that the temples, zoo, night markets and breathtaking gardens and you are sure to be spoilt for choice here.
I fell in love with Singapore during a trip with my then six year old daughter just us on a trip to explore all this tropical island in Southeast Asia had to offer what an unexpected treat!
Here is a list of some of what we feel are the highlights Singapore has to offer to travellers.
We do try to keep a little left of field when travelling to allow us a more organic adventure however Singapore has so many true gems all over that is was a little hard to venture away from what all the hype was about.

We took a private taxi with no troubles.
Everything you can imagine to see at a zoo you will find here its just a magical place to witness the animals, including the panda‘s! What’s the most exciting is this zoo also offers the worlds first ever night visit opportunity (more info found below).
Children are well catered for here too, so a good day here should be expected if you take in the waterpark the carousel ride and the up close animal encounters with the farmyard animal family.
Presentations and keeper talks will have you well informed and entertained. If you are one for a little more than the behind the scenes opportunities might be a consideration for you. Nothing is more engaging than feeding the animals so be sure to check times and not miss the fun.
Not forgetting the opportunity to dine and shop along the way.

Just like Vivo City - Santosa Island is Jam -Packed with something for everyone
LOVE THIS ISLAND!
Before it was known as Sentosa, this island just off Singapore's southern coast was a British military fortress. After the Japanese Occupation in World War II, Singapore returned to British rule, and the island was renamed “Sentosa” which means “peace and tranquillity” in Malay. NOW YOU KNOW... x
Today however its home to many commercial establishments including Universal studio's a water park, aquarium & houses both the hard rock hotel and hard rock cafe.
Santosa offers a man made beach with recreational courts and many health and wellbeing opportunities.
Caters for the children on so many levels outside of the main attractions for example plan a good few hours worth of play at nestopia. I would suggest you consider a combo pass for a visit to Santosa Island for a few reasons, It kind of makes you get going and seeing things even if you would rather just lay in bed and it also offers discounted entries overall making it a good choice if you are short on time and watch the budget!
A huge fun play space for children up to say 15-ish years. You will also find a casino from memory and loads of fun landmarks to enjoy a selfie! Gardens by the bay a spectacular visiting opportunity that will also eat into the days hours, walking platforms and of cause many dining opportunities and simple family spaces best enjoyed as rest and recharge stations!
Easily accessible from city side and offers a good full few days of fun & then some!
Any saving is worth committing to and thats why the combo passes are so popular more so now than ever with the cost of travel having almost doubled in some cities post covid ... They allow for savings on places you are heading to anyway!

** Chijmes **
Location: 30 Victoria St, Singapore
Opening Hours: DAILY vendors varied
Price: FREE + Food & Bev
CHIJMES (pronounced 'chimes'), is located in the Downtown region of Central Singapore, I love a good church its just something I really enjoy - the architecture, the history, the memories of visiting on Sundays with my Great Great nan, so for me add in a convent and a momdern twist and Im there!!
So the former convent, now known for its luxuriant food and beverage scene in the heart of the cosmopolitan.
It was originally created and functioned as a catholic Convent School in 1852 - today though this entire ground has been refurbished to its true architectural stance with the former Halls and teaching rooms now host to many modern cafes, fun bars, and restaurants that are mostly themed.
You may also catch a wedding or two here as the wedding hall today was once the caldwell house built in 1840 still offering celebrations to the modern era. I was in love!
The lawns and grounds surrounding the Gothic-style chapel are often dressed for private events or music events we didn't time this too well and thankfully as we got to enjoy the views uninterrupted and less crowded - so no complaints here.
With all the Chijmes withstands today, its surrounds some mentioned above include the stunning architectural delight that was once a girl's school run by French Catholic nuns, this included three full schools, an orphanage (hard to imagine), a chapel and the nun's apartment. This space still holds a sense of calm, a peacefulness that offers strong serenity. I did not want to leave this was a real treat for me and I was savouring every moment!
Truely a great spot to visit - time it right and take in a concert from one of the entertainment stages!
